A new lawyer just moved into Lafayette out of central Louisiana. He’s like the Gordon of Cen La. His slogan is Do it Right. He was in a fraternity and out many nights at the strip. Moved to college from marksville to here. I was in the fraternity next door.

Just reading through the comments about changes in the offseason and in camp. I am not saying this is good, bad, or ugly just an observation.

I go to Reds every morning of the work week. Part of my route is down Cajun Dome Blvd from Eraste Landry to Johnston. I get to the light at Cajun Dome and Congress every morning between 4:50 and 5:10. During Napiers years I could see cars of ball players pulling in from all directions into the parking lot when sitting at the light during June and July. This year I haven’t seen one car in the parking lot at that time.

Just one difference in strategy that I have noticed.

I was somehow logged out of my CajunVic account earlier today and have not been able to log back in. So, my new account is now CajunVicSquared. I would love to go back to CajunVic if Turbine can make that happen.

Law school is a three year curriculum. So I completed the 4 year accounting curriculum in three years. I passed the CPA exam while in law school. I started work at my law firm immediately out of Law School and started practicing law latter that year after passing the bar exam. I still grade bar exams . . .

And just for added note, I grew up on a 120 acre farm. We farmed rice, soy beens, cattle, doves and crawfish. So, while I never had a formal job, there was always plenty of work to do on the farm for which I was compensated. I was more like Digger Earles than Get Gordon . . .

As for my boys, while neither was in any social fraternities, both were in curriculum related organizations and attended most sporting events. Friends were always welcome at our home and most weekends we cooked for them and many of their college friends. I never once had to impose any rules of the house. My youngest played college baseball for 3 years which is in essence a full time job. After his third summer with the CaneCutters (who play virtually every day) he decided not to play college baseball his senior year. He took a job as a caretaker for a paraplegic his senior year, which included, amoung many things like driving her around, cooking and handling her daily physical therapy requirements. He was also elected Home Coming King by the student body and was elected Student Counsel President by the faculty his senior year.

I would say that both of them had a very well rounded college experience . . . excelled in school which is why they were there and finished their respective degree programs on time . . . My youngest will be starting PT school in August.

You should be a proud poppa. With 2 girls still in school I had to impose rules. I couldn’t have my boy going out during the week and coming in at 1 or 2 and setting the alarm and waking the house up. I know you had one in Ms and only one at home. I could have relaxed my rules in that case.

It’s funny you mention Digger his son and mine are in the same Greek organization and they have had a few get togethers on that farm in Avoyelles Parish where Digger learned to drive that truck.

I too grew up working on a farm. My grandfather had 500 head of cattle when I was very young and whittled that down to 200 when I was in high school and sold them all shortly after I graduated. Worked weekends during school and spent all my summers there growing up.

I take that right on congress then immediate left into CF parking lot to Reinhardt and the back to CD Blvd. I am sure they are doing the work just at different times than years past.

Not saying you are wrong but that is video of them arriving at the field before sunrise with no lights on in the pitch black. Maybe they just don’t turn on the lights and start when they can see

Up date, today at 5 am I passed through the parking lot and it was empty. I was running a little later than usual, because I ran into my long winded cousin, and didn’t pass Cajun field until about 6:30 and there were 30 to 40 cars in the lot, at that time. The only lot players are allowed to park in. So back to my original thought not saying good or bad or indifferent, but when Billy was here if I was at the light at Cajun Dome and Congress at 5AM you could see guys coming in hot from all directions. It looked as if they were trying to get for a fire or that they were running late for something very important. Today at 6:30 was the first time I saw cars there and I passed it 4 times week every week to and from Reds this summer except for the week on vacation. So it appears they just do it a little later now.

So a real life version of Driving Miss Daisy. Great story Vic. I believe Turbine can set you up for a new password on your original Ragin Pagin name.
