Napier took over a locker room that Hud had completely lost control of. He had to create a completely new cULture in there. I’m sure you saw some of the videos that were that leaked out. Des took over a program with great cULture and process in place.
I do realize that losing the number of players he did contributed to the wins and loses. But losing players had nothing to do with obvious lack of discipline that team displayed often last year.
Not a reply to anyone in particular, and it’s been mentioned before too. The normal player losses due to graduation and transfers hurt, but so too did the attrition due to academic difficulties. So in total we lost 40+ players from Napier’s 13 win team. Add to that the growing pains with a first time FBS head coach and we were much further back than most of expected.
I look for 2023 to be a much improved team over 2022.
