You are correct I was there. And when it looked we were going to change the momentum with a big play to Jonny lumpkin that got us down to the goal line there was a bone headed unnecessary penalty that got it called back.

So I’m not 100% sure what you saw on the field to suggest we were missing discipline. Because what I saw, was 2 first year QB’s playing behind the 3rd string OL for the first 5 games. Missed assignments in blocking schemes, missed check downs by the QB early in the season all growing pains with an inexperienced team.

Defensively we were fantastic 95% of the season.
Here is another state you left out 0. I am very close to 2 bar tenders at nite town in downtown Lafayette. During Napier’s years they saw 0 players out during training camp. Last year there were different players out every night with practice the next day.

How many players missed time due to academic issues under Napier? I know of several. So where was the discipline then?

Fumbling more often, that’s a reach. How about we weren’t handing the ball of to NFL backs named Trey Ragas and Elijah Mitchell.

Several players are bouncers downtown. Just like they have always been.

Seriously? Do you really think players that are bouncers were out working until after 2AM during Napiers training camp? How would that work get off at 2AM and check back into the team dorm. Some folks have no clue how this works.

. . . yes about 5 of them and they are all going to die on that dorm hill . . .

You weren’t under napier. We talking 3 weeks in August camp only. I know for a fact no one was leaving the team dorm during camp and working at a bar. That I’ll bet my very last dollar.

. . . the dorm storm is quickly turning into an afternoon summer shower . . .

If you can’t read into what that tells one about the difference it makes in keeping kids contained under one roof with monitors watching the doors vs having them spread all over town and policing themselves, then that’s a you problem.

Fumbling has nothing to do with talent. NFL talents Chuck Muncy and Terry “butter fingers” Robiskie, as he was called in BR, were both very prone to fumble. Hanging on to the ball is all about focus, paying attention to detail and doing the little things right. It’s a mental discipline that is created all year throughout the process.

Correct about players being bouncers. But not in August under Napier during training camp. Players working as bouncers dates back to the 60s and 70s I am aware of that. I could see a player asking napier “coach I am going to check out of camp tonight from 9 until around 2:30 to work in a bar” Don’t think Billy would allow that.
