The reality is, we are behind the curve with mobile only ticketing. Our fan base is growing older (and some of us are already there.) Truth is, the next generation of Cajun fans use mobile ticketing for just about everything. We've had the mobile/paper option for a few years now. Now we're just taking the next step. Like everything, there will probably be a kink or two, there always is. But Dr. Maggard has read every email and all input from fans and they are taking steps for preventative maintenance.

While you may have to take an extra step or two to transfer tickets, if you have email and your recipient has email it's much easier than some of you are making it out to be.

Someone called this a "nothing burger." I tend to agree.
I’ve got a question you may or may not be able to answer. We split a loge suit in baseball 5 ways with 12 tickets. Since the new stadium came about you are only allowed to put the seats in one persons name. With the paper ticket at the beginning of the year we divide our 12 tickets into 12 individual stacks of single game tickets for the season. 4 of us get 2 tickets and one gets 4.

With the mobile ticket will we be able to distribute the whole season worth of tickets at the beginning, before the season starts, as we do with the paper tickets? It would be way to much to ask for one gut to distribute 8 tickets 4 different ways for every game in a 30 something game season. I honestly don’t know how this mobile ticketing works.

This will be the most important aspect. I read where other schools who have done this bring in temporary cell service towers to ensure adequate service at game time. Wifi is great but you also have to connect to wifi manually so must improve cell service for this to work.

I don't have the answer to that. But I'll get it.

I remember the days when getting ANYTHING to work at Cajun Field was durn near impossible.

But for several years now, on gameday, I've had NO problems accessing anything via my smart phone.

Now, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff, but does your provider have anything to do with your success. I was a Sprint customer (now TMobile) and have not had the gameday issues some of you evidently have.

I have AT&T and haven't had trouble at Football games last 2 years. I did have random trouble here and there for baseball games weirdly enough, but forced myself to load tickets into wallet ahead of games after those times.

Wasn't this done in the past at Cajun Field when we were averaging large crowds under Hud?

I had to have a ticket printed for me just last year after forgetting to put one in my Apple wallet. Couldn’t get connectivity to access my tickets. Until someone can seriously address how this situation would be handled without printed tickets AND the bigger issue (how do you transmit all walk up tickets electronically) anyone calling this a nothing burger is not thinking analytically.

From what I have heard, walk-up tickets purchased on game day will be the printed version.

Carrier has 100% to do with success of service. Years ago, by 2pm it was impossible to even make a call on an AT&T phone on gameday. One game, my daughter had a bad nose bleed once we got in the stadium. I was at the concession stand getting them drinks and popcorn only to get back to my seats and her and my wife were no where around. They could not get a hold of me to tell me what was going on. After about 30 minutes of looking, I found them in the Acadian Ambulance room.

The next week, I switch from AT&T to Verizon. From that point on, I have had zero issues with service. I was able to sit in the stadium and surf the internet and follow games via ESPN while others had a cell phone equivalent to a brick in their pocket.

The initial tweet states “paper tickets will no longer be accepted.” The official Twitter account confirmed the new process was for single game tickets as well.

Perhaps the serious issue surrounding transfer of excess tickets on GameDay is only an issue for those of us who routinely do so and for those who are the recipients of our generosity. After all most people already at a tailgate will buy tickets if none are available for free.
