Anybody know when fall practice starts? Is there a schedule? Do they still let former players in to the practice areas?

Never seen a D1 football program be so silent less than a month before practice starts. Zero excitement about ticket sales, zero talk about offense, zero about defense, projected starters at key positions, what the QB situation is and on and on. Media is basically crtickets. No enthusiasm whatsoever. Once again, great marketing.

According to Maggard it’s the crappy stadium. That of course ignores everything that they could possibly do to make it much better.

Example of things that cost virtually nothing.

How about the alma mater and other traditional songs on the scoreboard in tune
How about enough programs to be able to keep up with who’s playing.
How about enough people to direct and take tickets to all gates.
How about not deafening the fans
How about encouraging Greeks and GDI to be there, be loud, be proud and make the visitors feel more like trespassers than cozy guests.
    On and on.

Students are not on campus. At the end of last semester they had a meeting with a couple of members of each Greek organization, Maggard, the dean in charge of Greeks, and a new person in charge of game day experience.(I forgot his name.) I’ll be curious to see what happens this fall with game day promotions to students.

Listen to Jays pod cast with Maggard at the beginning of the month. I am sure nothing changed since then.

Agreed. I've said this before and I'll say it again...
    Crappy facilities
    Crappy game day experience
    Crappy opponent

We drove around the campus on homecoming Saturday. Hardly a clue that it’s homecoming in spite of the many new dorms and apartments on campus.

The silence leading up to FB season makes me think that everything is hinging on the finalization of CF reno financing. That's the benefit of the doubt I'm affording the admin. Maybe they have a bunch of final year of CF promos lined up, but can't let it loose until they get the nod that demo is happening 100% after this season. That's my hope at least.

I think they are well aware of the excitement they could drum up by going into the season promoting it as "last season at Cajun Field as we know it. (more details to be released during season)."

Print some shirts with this CF style artwork on the back:

Set up a selfie/picture spot in the parking lot facing CF to offer fans their last opportunity to take a picture with that CF backdrop and have t-shirts to sell right there.
