Thread: It’s time to brand a classic clean L

  1. Default Re: It’s time to brand a classic clean L

    Many thoughts on this.

Louisiana can stand alone, but whether FDL or Ragin' Cajuns, always include Louisiana.

The biggest drawback on UL is the schools compulsion to include micro location.

You've got another conflict as far as doing anything at Cajun Field...What about the 2 L's in Our Lady of Lourdes? More and more people are picking up on UL...I saw an espn school ranking that had us listed as UL...I could see changing the football helmets to an L, and Jerseys with the other UL teams, that may be a better place to start....

I am willing to take offers and see what I can do but I like my version of the L! I think it is different and would differentiate us from other L’s.

I have mess with it if anyone can come up with a better L be my guess!

And, several universities have the same letter reference and are in the same conference, but use a different font to distinguish their brand.

    A few examples:

    N - Nebraska
    N - Nevada
    A - Alabama
    A - Arkansas
    A - Arizona
    F - Florida
    M - Michigan
    M - Minnesota
    T - Texas
    T - Tennessee
    W - Wisconsin
Ever since we started the UL hand sign lsu mysteriously starting using just the L hand sign. They never did that before UL.

No, leave it alone. The script 'Cajuns' and Fleur-de-lis are fine. Although a 'Louisiana' on the helmet would be cool from time to time.

Amazing. The best thing we got is the arch on the helmet and thats the first thing you say thats gosta go. Negative. Everything but the helmet (which has been on our lids for the last 21 seasons) can take a hike.

Jury, disregard fanof71's statement. Not looking to re-start this war, but I think we're good on Football EXCEPT the dumb stacked logo that looks like the blob from Abbeville on the 50 yard line. Apply the Helmet Arch to all.

    The Swamp.

I’m looking for a very classic traditional L. Something that is timeless.

If we were going to jump on the “L”, we should have done it a few years ago.

Walking through the bookstore at LSU a couple weeks back, ballcaps with “L” all over the place.

Oh, speaking of bookstores run by Barnes & Noble for attire and paraphernalia, the one inside Baton Rouge’s student union has really good stuff, and lots of it.

So apparently B&N CAN do a good job, but someone needs to EXPECT them to do a good job. I’m guessing someone with authority at whichever university they’re operating on.

We absolutely fail at so many things you’d think it’s on purpose. And if on purpose why?
