And our crowd size is not an indictment of Marlin. It’s an indictment of our fan base.
I actually agree with you here. In particular about that last sentence. For some reason we have this hard on for diamond sports here and which often leads to a lack of basketball interest.

I think ALL sports are in for a challenge at the G5 level concerning support, not just basketball. The ESPN + availability, NIL situation, and transfer portal options all contribute to that issue. Basketball wise, I am skeptical attendance improves greatly with either another strong season or whenever another coach takes over. People who used to attend have found other things to do and are now in the habit of their replacement activities. Covid was a major contributor. The people who did attend last season did enjoy the product they viewed. Guys played hard, were well prepared, and had a team first attitude. Winning was their ultimate goal. I bet that culture is maintained going forward. Of course none of us know if the new Guys brought in have enough talent to result in a successful season.

But you can't use that comparison to all the other teams who have coaches with less than 13 years tenure at said school. In what other line of work does the one with 13 years under his or her belt not get paid more than someone who just started in comparable positions

You have to win regular season championship to get to the NIT. Both are good accomplishments.
