The distaste for LSU some Cajun fans have (myself included) only pushes people further towards supporting only LSU. No one cares that we have valid points about the way the state’s resources have been historically heaped on LSU or the name issue. Their favorite team is winning nattys and the court of public opinion will deem anyone who doesn’t support them as “jealous” “little brothers” or “haters.”

IMO we are better off refocusing our efforts on connecting with this community and avoiding that topic. Block out the noise. Stop the incessant ____ing matches on social media. Focus on our 1,000,001 issues.
    I can support this message . . .

It is true, Maggard also mentioned it in his interview with Jay. He pretty much says Marlin will be our coach as long as he wants The job…

Well, I’ll just continue my boycott of Cajuns basketball. Not that it’ll matter.

Predicting that before the end of the decade UL will find itself in a Natty game or have at least 2 individual performers in position to win an NCAA Champpionship

Whether I agree or not, the tarot cards and stars all aligned to CBM coming back if he wanted to. Been discussed multiple times already on this board. The “shock and dismay” by some is somewhat entertaining.

My only questions are regarding the incentive structure of the contract.

But as Solomon pondered, “Everything is meaningless”.

I mean with a (never addressed again) winning percentage of 75% ... why not as long as he wants.

He has been offered a multi year contract. It is not a lifetime contract. My guess it is an additional three years beyond the one he earned from winning the conference tournament. That is why there is not a big rush to get it finalized. The August date Dr. Maggard mentioned in the interview is due to a board meeting that approves these contracts. I am confident the contract will have the normal buyout provisions. I have no idea what the compensation or buyout details are. Not that it is any of my business at this stage anyway. Perhaps once it is finalized and recorded someone will check those details. My main hope is that compensation is increased for assistants who did such a great job last season.

Historically, June 1 had been a contract approval date.

We already lost an assistant to I think Kennesaw State so maybe the pay still isn't there.
