Donovan Kates left for family reasons from what I understand. I don’t believe he had any complaints about his time here and would not have left without the family connection at his new spot.

The distaste for LSU some Cajun fans have (myself included) only pushes people further towards supporting only LSU. No one cares that we have valid points about the way the state’s resources have been historically heaped on LSU or the name issue. Their favorite team is winning nattys and the court of public opinion will deem anyone who doesn’t support them as “jealous” “little brothers” or “haters.”

IMO we are better off refocusing our efforts on connecting with this community and avoiding that topic. Block out the noise. Stop the incessant ____ing matches on social media. Focus on our 1,000,001 issues.
    Well said!

We were conference champions and finished #37 in the RPI. If that isn’t good enough for a contract extension, what is?

    You don't reward a fluke.

Lol finishing second in a much improved conference then shutting all the idiots up by actually winning 3 days in March. Fluke huh? Sounds like he did exactly what your screen name suggests. Yes yes….Fluke indeed.

I am with M$M on this one. Marlin did get the team to the dance, so a little credit is warranted.

Two NCAA and one NIT in 13 seasons. That’s slightly better 23% in post season. So yeah a fluke when you consider middle of the pack most seasons, and semifinals in the tournament just twice, maybe three in the NIT season. Can’t recall for sure.

Was it not clarified that the automatic 1 x year contract extension clause for winning a conference championship was removed from Marlin’s 2022-2023 contract?
