Governments do it all the time, my unborn great grandchildren will be repaying my Medicare social security benefits well into the 21st century.

University of Louisiana is not a government . . .

It’s a government institution. They bond and pay back with cheaper money, something Ben Franklin thought was wonderful.

Every penny spent on sports by the university is money they don't "have."

They spend money on staff to start the season hoping to get season tickets sold and enough walk up sales to cover the money they spent but didn't have.

They have other mechanisms to recover money spent that they didn't have. Advertising, RCAF, suites

Have you ever heard of a specific sport ending the season with a surplus?

They start the season broke, spend money they don't have and spend the rest of the year trying to overcome the deficit.

and when they don’t, they are in a bind . . . that is where we are now . . . lots of smart Asses in this thread and I would suspect that some of them don’t have a pot to pee in . . . but they think they are smart . . . that football game attended by 7,000 ain’t going to get very much bonding . . .

7000 is often (overly) pointed to but that number is an anomoly, not the norm.

Can you unequivocally tell me that the bonding commission will not look at that number going forward as influential in floating any bonds where funds from attendance will be depended upon for payment of the bonds?

The bond commission will look at the average, not the low.

Still the overall, numbers, are another side effect of "they haven't tried."

They have the option to "start trying."

    . . . that was a big punt . . .
