There may be more Cajun fans living in Houston than Rice fans, that’s not even an exaggeration…

While we had about 5k for the game in Houston last year they may have had 5 hundred. We think 7k looks bad in a 42k seat stadium. Imagine drawing under 1k in something as cavernous as rice stadium. I think at one time it held around 72k.

My brother attended LSU in 59. I started listening to LSU games then. I remember them playing Rice and being pretty full for the LSU games

Rice football used to be a big deal. Then around that time (I think), football roster sizes expanded, and they just couldn’t keep up with the larger schools.

Fun fact: All living Rice alumni could fit inside Rice Stadium at any point in time.

Dude at the J-meaux store right next to campus didn't even know they had a game going on. I'm like come on man. Even shops next Lamar or McNeese would know to capitalize on game days sales. But then again they had a huge wine selection and limited beer options. Probably had little sales related to anything athletic with university.

Guy did know facts about the stadium and it hosting a Superbowl. May have been the last time that chap attended sporting event.

Major media market implies that people give a Major SCHLITZ about you!
