IMO as a FAN country music is in a golden age right now. Doesn’t matter which era or style is your favorite. It’s out there being made right now, and most of it is not just cheap imitations of the past. My curiosity is how good of an era it is for the artists, which would determine if this continues. The stuff being pumped out of Nashville is homogenized slop. Rap is the dominant genre today, so country execs have glommed on to that. If that stuff has the machine behind it, how well do the people making the real stuff do? There are some definite success stories with Jinks, Turnpike Troubadours, and Zach Bryan selling large venues with no help from Nashville.
