No, I just said we’ll let your posts speak for themselves. Seems like a fair arrangement to me.

Where ya gonna get the money to pay the deficit with Mike? This dude is not only a mediocre at best coach. He's a freaking zero when it comes to fan appeal. I know, I know, winning is supposed to trump everything. This is true, but when you take a 13 win team one year to a 500 ball club the next with a ton of returning players, you better have some Ben Franklin, Davey Crokett, Yogi Berra home spun wisdom to rally the community with.

Well you hijacked the Steven Blanco Committment thread in a way that diminished fan support of coaching decisions.

Hijacked or tangent posts that take over a topic have the potential to be split off. So yes, you did start this topic.

That is most definitely false. But like statistics, the one in charge here can make a picture that is neither intended or accurate. I wonder who was in charge . . .

Agree with you on the O line that and musical QBs early on definitely cost us some games. But the number one over all thing that was obviously different from the previous 4 years was discipline of the football team. That started in August. I’ll be curious to see if any changes are made this year in that area.

FYI. There were nearly 50 people who was on the rooster the year before Des took over that wasn’t there last year. 50 out of 85 scholarships. You do the math.

I am not saying that I am against Des. I wish him the best and hope he becomes the winningest coach in Cajuns history with a long career here like Robichaux. But his contract doesn’t suggest he was a budget hire. He makes a salary of 775K. That is right in there with other first year coaches in the belt. I think it was right where Napier was in his first year also.

This is like two boats passing in the night.

People here still wanted us to hire some other high powered coach. My question is, who, how much and where is the money going to come from. Nobody has answered any of this.

For the 50th time, I believe CMD was the right hire . . . I believe he is fairly paid . . . And I don’t believe any of this should in any way diminish the hire, the hire’s ability or his reputation.

Anything said otherwise is owned by he or she who says it. It’s not mine.

If UL was high on a certain coach and said coach wanted 1.5, 2 mill a year the university could have paid that. Part, not all but part of the reason Dez was hired is they were able to get him so cheap compared to what Napier was making so don't kid yourself, UL could have easily doubled that salary if they wanted to hire a bigger name. I know this because Napier was making 2 mil a year and was going to make 3 mil had he stayed so obviously if the university could come up with 3 mil, they could have come up with 1.5...as for who would have been available that's hard to say without doing a national search. But Dez was hired in part because of Napier's recommendation so we shall see how that pans out.
