LOL...while I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with my post, the fact that he made his response so personal and ugly makes it clear that there is something else behind it. Oh well, we will all survive.

And yes, you are right: not at all diminshing that they have acheived a success....especially if you consider where we are. But that's not the right way to look at this: again, if I was a donor (esp a big time one) and knew that we were close to the top 5 in cash, yet the best we could do is 'top 25' I would not be very happy. And I know that a lot of the fans are not. I guess that's why they hate their AD and prez with a passion, and a lot of them don't really like O.

Same at McNapsy on a much smaller version.

the irony lost in all this, speaking of football, is that they honored a convicted felon all last season. noone seems to mention that. talk about setting up a corporate culture.... will they have a ww next to the 20 this season?
Well my older brother lived in a room. They were very nice, large, and airy.

In another post I gave out information about McNapsy being built under the same subterfuge. Many others in the state. Of course none as grand as LSU. Still when it was a stadium/dorm it only included the sidelines.

2 of my best friends lived in the stadium their first year there waaaaay back in the olden days of the mid 70's.....I think it was the west side, if not mistaken. It was actually during the construction of the first tower, which made the un-a/c'd dorms dusty and loud, on top of very hot. The workers would taunt them in the mornings during the week, with things like "wake up little girls, time to go to school" and such. But on the weekends, at least once that I was there, they got their revenge by peeing on them through the open windows after being out all night. So said they weren't the only ones to do this, lol. Fun times indeed.

Really? Wildly successful you say? Top 5 recriting classes every year and they have no championships to show for it. The resources of an entire state behind them, so much money they can pi&& it away on a floating river (but not a library) and not a football natty in sight?

And while I am talking about libraries, they don't have a single academic program in the top 10. Heck, I don't think they have one in the top 50. The ranking for law schools just came out, and they rolled in at 100.

If State is our education leader, then it is doing a pi&& poor job leading. When it comes time for resources, they put their boot on the necks of the rest of the schools and insist they deserve much, much more than anyone else. No one holds them accountable to the terrible job they are doing representing us. If State was a horse, we would have shot it years ago. It is time they step aside and let someone else lead.

They’re hiding with their tails tucked between their legs. But I’m sure they’re lurking.

Maybe I should call a timeout. Since they don’t get to be under investigation too often with their administration and coach being in a pickle, they should sit there and enjoy being under investigation.

Don't follow LSU academics closely, but I know their petroleum engineering and geology programs are top rated. They put out a lot of qualified grads. As for athletics, they pretty much get what they pay for. When you look at football only, yes they are not where they should be, but when you look at their entire program it is hard to argue with their success. Over the next year our two they will have a legitimate chance to win national titles in the following sports....football, baseball, softball, and track. Not to mention minor sports like beach volleyball and gymnastics. On the whole they may have the best sports program in the SEC.

As for this scandal, I am surprised Smart is being allowed to play. This must mean LSU feels confident no illegal payments can be traced to Smart or his family. I still think Wade is toast, but I would bet these payments will be extremely difficult to trace. Illegal payments in college have been going on for a long time and I would bet a school like LSU, who has been cheating for years, knows how to not leave a paper trail.

If you don't leave any paper trail, you won't get caught. Wade's paper trail was his phone call. I don't think they have anything to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Smart took any gifts.

And just like that, State is bounced out of their conference tournament.

Let’s take a look at Tiger____ings and see what the fans are saying. Oh yeah, that’s right. It’s the refs fault. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Well, along with the refs, they also now have the AD, admin and BOS to blame. Of course, FUPA Wade is blameless.

ETA: of course they're still going to the dance, but it will be for naught once all of the WW ramifications are dealt with.
