The protest just ended. Just so we can summarize:
There was a scheduled 2:30 protest that was happening right outside of the LSU campus to where a whopping 3 people showed up.
Then, word was spreading that the REAL protest and march would happen at 6:00.
Only 6 people showed up to that. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I can't figure out what's more absurd: the fact that they were calling for a protest for the suspension of a coach who was caught red-handed for cheating, or the fact that no one showed up for said protest when they were certain.....certain, I tell you......that hundreds and hundreds would show up for.
You just can't make this stuff up!
Not sure I can easily find it again but most major infractions were the result of assistants at the coaching or admin level. Now make of that what you want.
The RICO act was created because the "bosses" isolated themselves from the dirty work. Very interesting that the recent college basketball cases are talking RICO. This is going to get VERY ugly.
...and so it begins. LSU is going to tie this around Wade’s neck and push him into the river. Damage control, modern mafia style. Same thing Addidas did. Same thing Louisville did.
College sports, particularly the revenue sports, is organized crime. Universities as fronts for fraud. Untouchable bosses pulling the strings. NCAA, ESPN, and apparel makers on the take. FBI investigations.
I wonder if the FBI can withstand the pressure it will get from very high places to “not destroy an American institution” and press on.
For the first time since the mid 80s, I will not participate in March Madness. College basketball, in its current form, is not real.
I hear you but the reality is this. The vast majority of NCAA violations are committed by coaches and lower level admins. Why? The pressure to climb the ladder. Most higher level admins (A.D.s) don't feel that pressure. They have found their spot and just want to ride the wave.
If you look at the vast majority of violations it is asst. coaches trying to climb the next rung of the ladder. Sometimes you will have a head coach who just has to prove himself.
Honestly it is very rare to find head administrators who were really in the know about much of the wrongdoings the NCAA finds.
This latest round kind of boggles the mind. I mean you have coaches taking six figure bribes and helping create "fake" athletes. Some have gone as far as to fake travel teams and competitive photos of kids that didn't play a sport. The only ladder they are trying to climb is the one of self fulfillment in their bank account.
It will be interesting to see how the NCAA handles this. If they do anything at all. These are situations where the coaches received a financial benefit but had nothing to do with true student athletes, eligibility etc. I mean the kids from an athletic standpoint basically didn't exist. I'm not sure the NCAA has any grounds for disciplinary matters in a case like that outside of unethical behavior on the part of the coach. Maybe you have a "show cause" action against the individual but I don't see how you go after the institution. After all the institution is the biggest victim of this behavior.
Here’s an interesting non biased view.

Yeah pretty good read, especially considering the source. What I was hoping would be asked/answered was are the possible legal outcomes assuming that money (not Little Willy's) changed hands. Seems to me that this could/will become a big part of the story as this schitt storm continues to unfold.
While it is a stretch I wonder if the feds go after any athletes.
If the Feds really wanted to send a message they could show up courtside at the NCAA tournament and start handcuffing coaches and players. Would be interesting to see how many cases of sudden illness started happening.
I don’t blame the players one bit, start putting the coaches, administrators and boosters providing the cash in jail..things will clean up. Like anything else it’s risk vs reward. The reward is million dollar contracts, gotta make the risk much more and hold people accountable.
