There’s a football coach who failed as an NFL coach. Went back to college and had a few great teams at USC. He left that program in shambles but he’s had an outstanding NFL rebirth in Seattle.
The current coach at the Celtics only had a couple years as head coach in college. He’s had a very solid NBA career so far.
Thinking it’s premature and presumptuous to proclaim Lil’Willy a anything in the NBA.
While there’s lots of comments in this thread titled “the meltdown continues”, joke’s a bit on us this baseball season, no??
Who’da thought—LSUA&M@BR has it’s OWN version of “The Fossil”....
Great stuff......

I am trying to figure out the likely outcomes to all this, as realistically and unbiasedly as possible, and based soley on the facts that we know so far. Correct me if I am wrong on any of this:
1. LSU admin has suspended WW, and is doing an investigation of his activities.
a) It seems very unlikely that he will be cleared, but I that is a possiblilty.
b) Even if that happens, the NCAA will no doubt do their own research, and if they too clear him
then all of this goes away.
2. LSU finds wrong doing, fires WW and self imposes to hopefully get ahead of the NCAA.
a) Self-imposed penalities would likely (?) include vacating all of this season, the
championship, etc., since all of it pertains to WW and Smart.
b) Maybe they even give up some schollys, but I doubt they will impsoe any bans on
themselves.
3. NCAA will do their own investigating. This is where it could get very interesting:
a) Will they look into where WW got the money to do the pay-outs?
b) Will this extend into other sports?
c) I tend to think they will not dig/expose too much: they don't care about them as far as MBB
goes, but I don't think they want to endanger all the revenue from football and baseball.
Again, just my thoughts.
Baseball is not much in terms of NCAA revenue.
Nobody is better loved than USC was in football. They got pounded pretty good by the NCAA with the Bush scandal.
Additionally unlike basketball, football isn't a significant revenue source for the NCAA. It's a huge revenue source for the P5, and we know that the SEC members rat each other out like crazy.
So I do believe they’d do a through beat down on anything LSU is found to be in NCAA conflict. Besides better LSU than Duke/UNC,Kentucky from the NCAA prospective.
proposed penalties: not allowed to host teams with better rpi in postseason and coaches not allowed to speak to crowd via pa system during games
as far as baseball..... i am interested to see if their is any proof that walkons pay tuition
Yeah, agreed for the most part. I guess by revenues I meant for the P5/SEC, not directly for the NCAA....but I think they will do a lot to protect the revenue for either of those two.
So do you agree with the self-imposed pentalites I listed? Do you think the NCAA will hand them even stiffer ones?
