This will not end well for little Willy or the possums in refineryville.
My thoughts as well. No way he paid out his own pocket, maybe a prtion. Obviously this is not an isolated incident concerning only Smart that was allegedly offered more than rookie minimum, which is 800k I believe. If other players are involved, then you're talking about a pile money. Did the money come from backers or directly/indirectly from the athletic department's insane budget? More likely from backers under the table, but if funds came directly from lsu athletics money they should be crucified in the world of college basketball or NCAA period

When I saw that they had suspended him, I was wondering why they did since this is just starting to unfold and not all of the evidence is in. I thought that they had jumped the gun on this because Alleva has a rep for screwing things up. Now, he made a big story, mainly local, into a major national story with this move. I also read the thread of why the decision was made to suspend him. Someone stated that it keeps anyone with the BOS from being subpoenaed about the conversation. I'm kind of on the fence about this. Yes, it protects the BOS and WW. But if you have done nothing wrong, why not have the meeting? Him not showing up can put the perception out there of that there's more coming out about WW that will not be good for him or LSU.

If he lies in fed court, which this class A dumb fk will do, he'll end up spending time as the BB coach for cell block A team...

Looking at all of the discussion about this, I don't recall anyone mentioning how this affects his wife and kid. I feel for them. They're going to be collateral damage with the allegations. You don't think his wife has been approached by someone asking questions? Even if nothing comes of this, there will always be a cloud.

I have also seen a ridiculous amount of the "They just hate LSU".....bla bla bla. victimization crap.

he should have cited alleva’s lack of due process in the duke lacrosse case as the reason for refusing to meet with him

Your empathy is admirable. However, it’s not as if Wade was in some sort of accident and deserves empathy. The guy “allegedly” cheated. Let’s be honest though, he cheated. A guy like that and a university like that deserves everything coming to them. If the justice system felt bad for families of criminals and based their rulings on emotion, then we’d have a lot of criminals waking around

That’s why he won’t lie, he will cooperate and have a job in the nba. If you think that little turd is going to jail to protect LSU you are mistaken. Quite the opposite, i think he will sing like a bird. The only way he gets in real trouble is lying.
