Louisiana Can't Escape the Will Wade Saga

Big 12 for Baseball and Softball.

Atlantic Sun or Southland for everything else.

I would take that deal every day and twice on Sunday.

Independence would be a temporary situation.

Independence is a "separation" tool.

Independence creates a stepping stone that would make Louisiana a first mention candidate for every conference movement discussion.

All that advertising will make Louisiana everyone's first choice.

Well, of course, the MVC would be the first choice, maybe even the Horizon, but the most likely takers for our non-football, non diamond sports would be the SLC or the ASUN. Both of those really have very little difference in quality in basketball than the SBC. It's a wash.

And we're always talking about perception with us and CUSA. They may not necessarily be better than us as a conference but the perception says so. Moving to the SLC would be a killer for us. No thanks.

It seems like we have been saying for couple years now that Sun Belt May be better than CUSA...but perception is everything...when will everyone quit with the perception crap and start defending where we are...it will never change if everyone just keeps “rolling with the punches”....

Basketball? How about this. I agree that the SLC or ASUN would be a step down, but there is another option.

I would be willing to pay the extra travel for basketball to stay in a comparable RPI league as CUSA if it means getting rid of the SBC label and placing that BIG 12 patch on our baseball and softball unis.

This would also solidify LOUISIANA as our brand as well as a BIG 12 member.

It isn't about OOC RPI or he wouldn't have scheduled who he did. He ridiculed us for our OOC schedule, but LSU's non P5 schedule is not better.

About The Summit.....

There is more than one way to skin a cat. It's no secret they came after Little Rock and UTA a couple of years ago. It's also no secret that NMSU is a mercenary for hire. The Summit is at 8 members. They are desperate. We come with a 4 team deal. This would put The Summit at 12 with a Southern Division of:

Denver/New Mexico State
Oral Roberts/Little Rock
UTA/Louisiana


Before deal:

#14 CUSA
#19 The Summit
#20 SBC

After Deal:

#14 The Summit
#15 CUSA
#23 SBC

Also, we would be showing the BIG 12 that Louisiana is capable of fielding competitive programs with the travel necessary to cover roughly the same footprint in all non football sports.
