Apparently Will Wade addressed these games in the media today. Mentioned they both had decent seasons this year and should be strong in their conferences next year. As far as the Cajuns go, he said he would be amenable to playing them at some point in the future. He added that things need to cool down first. Therefore, we may play year after next. That is plenty of time for a cooling off period.
10-4. I didn’t do the math. I was just making fun of LSU’s (SEC) 3 year rolling average RPI threshold for scheduling OOC programs. I figured, but did not check, that our 5 and their 5 mentioned didn’t differ in a big way over a span of RPI. I guess Clemson is probably the only OOC opponent that stacks up against anyone. But Ole Miss and Iowa have been strong in the past. I didn’t look to see if this year was a huge break from their past 3. No worries.
Will Wade = mommy’s little boy
So Will Wade is either profoundly dumb when it comes to simple math or
He’s a liar
You are correct this is not the 80s. The 80s had many independents to schedule football games with. Today it would virtually impossible for us to have a decent schedule as an Indy. As an Indy you could win 8 games and stay home as you would have no bowl tie in. Kids love conference champions and all conference accolades, none of that possible. This program today going independent, would be the death penalty for football. Ask any AD or coach out there, if they want to be an independent, if you don't believe me. Watch nmsu the next few years if you want to see what being independent looks like.
