When he mentioned the mom, I knew he was toast. Anyone who understands recruiting knows what that means. The problem is that the naive State fans don’t want admit that.

The ncaa is coming in after the trial but what if the tapes are suspect with the context etc( not saying they are just playing devils advocate) and that’s all they got. We’ve seen ncaa screw up some investigation ie miami and Unc

Once again not defending him but what if he was comparing paying a player to when he coached under Shaka smart when he coached under him. We’ll know more when/if the tapes come out
But yes, If it’s smarts mom he’s taking about then he’s screwed and so is lsu

Yep. "Offer" you maybe could explain away. Mom and family being involved with the "offer", not so much.

The issue is that all of this will bring the NCAA onto campus and that is NEVER a good thing.

Maybe the 3rd party still had some eligibility left and wanted a chance to play. Maybe the mom asked to play for the Lady Tiggers.

“I was thinking last night on this Smart thing,” Yahoo's report said Wade said. “I’ll be honest with you, I’m [expletive] tired of dealing with the thing. Like I’m just [expletive] sick of dealing with the [expletive]. Like, this should not be that [expletive] complicated.”

“Dude,” Wade continued to Dawkins, referring to the third party involved in the recruitment. “I went to him with a [expletive] strong-___ offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong.

“The problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was [expletive] tilted toward the family a little bit,” Wade continued. “It was tilted toward taking care of the mom, taking care of the kid. Like it was tilted towards that. Now I know for a fact he didn’t explain everything to the mom. I know now, he didn’t get enough of the piece of the pie in the deal.”

The tape does not reference any specifics about the “offer,” if the particulars of the “offer” violated NCAA rules, if the player and/or his mother ever knew of the “offer” or if anyone accepted whatever the “offer” was.

I'd go talk to mom...especially if that financial faucet is dry.

You have two instances where Wade is caught on tape talking about previous offers he's made to recruits. Now, while it will be interesting to see how the NCAA handles this in the sense that there is no paper trail or proof that Smart received anything..yet, the school has no choice at this point but to suspend Wade and conduct an investigation. Many around the country felt they should have done this last fall when the first evidence came out. If anything, the administration allowed him to coach and recruit at their peril. Most around the country feel he should have been fired immediately.

Fans naďve enough to stick up for the man say "this doesn't mean anything" because there was no mention of particulars (cash and such.) Technically they are right, but still just in denial is you can read that and still believe Wade didn't do anything close to cheating.

The details will emerge once he's asked, under oath, what the "strong offer" was. If he foolishly denies telling the truth, it will come out some other way and Wade will not only have lost his job, but he'll be facing charges.

I'm also curious to see if the NCAA will begin an investigation into FSU who got the player that Wade had initially talked about making an offer to who ultimately did not go to LSU. You would have to assume that maybe that kid took a "better" offer?

If the first tape released was months ago and there is now a new tape, why do most people assume that’s the only thing the FBI has? I don’t think the FBI takes the chance of ruining this guys career unless they have his nuts nailed to a wall.

I think he wasn’t fired immediately because they aren’t 100 percent sure. If they were they would fire him
