This is why SOME SEC schools want federal oversight. They cannot get their state legislators to help them ‘compete’ so now they need the feds to step in.

Nothing here to see for Cajun fans, RCAF isn’t independent from the university.
LSU needs fed intervention because as deep pockets as some of their fans are.......its only a teeny tiny $pec vs Texas, TAMU, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, ND, USC, Penn State etc. If it becomes all out bidding war for 5 stars vs these alumni bases. LSU is in deep doodoo.
. . . poor folks is not a constitutionally protected class . . .
This will all slow down when the long term ROI gets evaluated.
TSAB has shown that you can buy championships. I mean they were doing it before, but now they’re just more public about it. But there are only a few championships to go around.
School that have boosters and collectives that are paying tons in major sports and not coming close to championships (TAMU football, for example) may take a strong look to see what they can better spend their money on.
If you have any doubt booster egos matter, look no further than the now infamous Rosco’s Jell-O shot challenge in Omaha. Who dropped coin on 8,888 shots yesterday? And lo and behold, the final total last night, 68,888. Will be placed on a plaque for all to see. To that donor, $44,440 is pocket change. But the magic phone number of 8’s reminds that fan base who did it. Want to talk about “the fix was in”…sure looks that way. In the meantime the lemmings share the magic 8’s throughout social media. Free advertising.
It’s just a lesson…for a big program, it’s no biggie. For those struggling to build a stadium, it’s an issue managing booster egos.
NIL has been a gold mine for 888-8888 and others similarly situated . . .
