They already have a new stadium? And ther old stadium is still available. Geez. Three stadiums?
The stadium opened in 2007 as a replacement for Camping World Stadium (then known as the Citrus Bowl) in Downtown Orlando, where the Knights had played since their inaugural season in 1979.[

And that same mentality appears to still be present in Martin Hall.

It is a little better disguised now, but the underlying principles have not changed much since the Fossil era.

    That’s the impression I get.

“Look, we let y’all have that RCAF thing. Isn’t that enough?”

Martin Hall is plenty woke. Not sure Savoie could get any more woke.

How about a temp sales tax like the one imposed for the new airport. With the new PAC being built across from Cajun field this could start a new movement to make this a huge entertainment district and a greater chance of a new temp sales tax imposed

Lafayette Parish has been very anti-new sales tax in recent years. That’s going to be a very tall order.

Yes, I was told any such tax would be temporary and that would be the only way to find a path for legislative approval.

Would require both councils to approve a tax election for an entity not legally under their taxing authority. Tall order is a major understatement. I’m sure the non LCG towns would be lining up to kill it at the initial suggestion.

Well, he has been way more progressive on that front than his predecessor. The former would have never hired Alden and funded athletics to any level. Now Dr. Savoie did say athletics would have to be self-funded eventually and it's clear he was adamant about that subject. His problem, or lack of vision is his unwillingness to take chances when it comes to finding revenue streams outside of the current parameters,ie; commercial development partnerships.
