We don’t like a lot of effort and work around here to promote things. Marketing is not the strong suit.
You’d think a university would want to hang a championship banner. Hell, softball and baseball have all their accolades on the walls around their stadiums.
Promote the banner hanging football game and it’s good for maybe another couple thousand.
My conspiracy theory is that there are some ncaa penalties lingering and the championship will be stripped. So the administration decided just to ignore anything associated with the 2021 season altogether.
Each of you have a point . . . that’s what makes for fine debate . . .
I’m not serious, of course, but that’s where minds could roam with no logical explanation from the top.
I’m thinking you’re right, but even something temporary. Even if you live in an older house, you want to make it as nice as possible. Hang some curtains. Even if you’re supposed to upgrade soon.
What are the consequences for students and/or fans using the Cajuns name to organize events thru social media?
If someone made shirts to promote some nonsense for a single game - ex. Danny Lynch is a weirdo day -- is Martin Hall going to come after fans for making unlicensed apparel, even if it's not being sold for profit?
This team needs rivalries.. needs traditions.. Casual fans need a reason to hate Coastal/App/USM/etc, and they need to spread that around to other people.
This idea that we're on the verge of national recognition is a pipe dream. The P5/G5/portal system will never allow it..
The biggest pot of gold at the end of any football season is a bowl game nobody watches against a team nobody cares about.
If you want fans to show up to watch a 2 or 3-loss team play USM on a Thursday night, you're going to need creative reason to get them there.
We don't have to go full Savannah Bananas, but it's time to get weird. The P5 conference invite ain't coming, so why bother with this traditional approach? We have one of the most unique sports brands in the country.. its time to embrace it
I say full blown Savanah Bananas is where it’s at. Make it happen . . .
