Right now it's off the beaten path.

Put the matchup when people are off and (no matter how many people go outside on the 4th) in a connected world the interest will grow annually, and make today's interest seem paltry.

When people are off? You mean like Saturday and Sunday? The CWS last for 11 days spanning 2 weekends, if you want to watch you are going to watch, unless you have something better to do…like celebrate the 4th of July with your family.

Pitching is currently where the game falls apart. Going to bat another 4 times is not going to diminish the product.

If they really wanted better competition and more viewers why not start the season later so the northern teams have a shot and end the season actually during school. And maybe throw in some neutral site region and SR rounds. (And bowls not in one conferences backyard while we are at it) Imagine if Duke played every ncaa March madness tournament game at home during their hey day
