Wake Forest's coach used to be at UNO, back when UNO was in the SB with us. A few years after he was hired at Wake Forest, one of his players to be, an imcoming freshman, needed a kidney transplant. None of his family (see attached article) were a suitable match so Coach Walters donated one of his.

I will be rooting for Wake Forest today and for the rest of the tournament; possibly rooting for both teams if ORU plays them.

UNO was pretty salty when Walter ran the show.

He was stalling getting the guy out the pen. New pitcher technically only allowed to warm up on the mound.

He succeeded in that, i.e. cheated, the SEC way. since the pitcher threw a few in the pen but was not supposed to. (We know what would have happened if that had been a lotief coached softball team.)

Wake recruited my son for baseball. I think a full ride was around $60k a year at that time. They wanted to know if we could pay huge tuition bills. The baseball field didn't even have lights at that point. We kept looking.
