For the second year in a row the Louisiana men's tennis has secured a spot in the 2024 ITA Indoor Championships, the premiere regular season tournament in collegiate tennis.
The Ragin' Cajuns will face host school No. 7 Georgia in the opening round, joining No. 19 Texas A&M and No. 26 Auburn in Athens, Georgia in the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The Cajuns locked in their spot after finishing No. 74 in the country in the final ITA poll of the 2023 season.
The Cajuns open the weekend against Georgia, the 2023 SEC regular season champions, on January 28, with the winner of that match advancing to face the winner of Texas A&M and Auburn. The remaining teams will face off in a match on January 29.
In last season's tournament, they fell to host Tennessee in the opening round before knocking off Charlotte in the second match, 4-0. That win sparked a five-match win streak that set the Cajuns up for a majorly successful season. They'd end the year third in the Sun Belt Conference and knocked off South Alabama, their first win over the Jaguars since 2015.
The tournament field is decided via the ITA Men's Kickoff Weekend Draft, with teams from around the country receiving the opportunity to choose which host site they would prefer to play at. The 15 host sites are predetermined based on the end-of-the-year 2022 rankings. Selection order was then based on year-end rankings, starting with No. 16 and running down until all spots were filled.
The winner of the regional will advance to the ITA Indoor Championships in New York, New York hosted by Columbia.
