I always thought the BIG 12 was in trouble. Now that the MWC drew a line in the sand, think the PAC 12 is needing a lifeline.

Think simple geography as related to eyeballs watching via television is going to rule the day. With the two Los Angeles schools checking out, who cares.

Whatever garbage TV deal the PAC leftovers can muster will still be light years better than the MWC. Any MWC solidarity will last about as long as the Old SBC solidarity pledge from Utah State and NMSU back in the day.

In case you haven’t noticed, UL has been playing LoTech in almost every sport every year, except football. I bet if they wanted to play more often Dr. Maggard would seriously consider it.

Mountain West bylaws stipulate that the exit fee is three times the annual distribution per school.

Since the commissioner says she wasn't going to pay SDSU for the current year, the exit fee should be zero.

    Update:

The conference replies Saturday that, as the bylaws allow, is withholding a $6,602,233.48 payment due the university this week as the first installment of the exit fee “in connection with our receipt of the SDSU Notice of Resignation.”

Translation: You’re out on July 1, 2024, and you owe us $17 million.

Put butts in the seats at Cajun Field, and be given to opportunity to show Louisiana we are the #2 program in the state. We should be playing Tulane in football more for that purpose as well.

    Dang.
The SBC should float the same idea of a bylaw that costly. Best way to find out who is taking up temporary residency and who wants to stay long term.

Yea, let’s break up a good thing before we have to . . .

Umm…and if we were soon thrown an offer to join the AAC with UTSA and Tulane?

Well, that bold move ends with SDSU coming back like a good puppy with its tail tucked between its legs.
