    That play and the last play of the Texas Stanford game should get lots of play in a list of top 10 gaffs to exit post season play . . .

    Crazy that the RF from Texas is probably one of if not the best RF in college baseball. Still didn’t see the ball and the game was over.

    His people are from abbeville too.

    I'm not sure I'd consider it a gaffe. It's just a very unfortunate event. Neither outfielder saw the ball. It wasn't a bonehead decision or mishandled play. Just pure bad luck.

    Think if Buckner would have been playing back in the same situation and instead of the ball going between his legs, it hits the bag and kicks far enough away that the same outcome occurs. Totally different story in the baseball history books.

    The second baseman couldn't find it either; on the replay you can see them looking around trying to find it. A very unfortunate event.
