Poll Measuring coaching Success at Louisiana this past season

Based on wins and losses being the only measure seems he (Marlin) is more deserving of extension than any other coach on campus

Plus or minus change in wins from prior season:

    Soccer: minus 50%
    Football: minus 46%
    W. Hoops: minus 11%
    Baseball: minus 5.4%
    Volleyball: NO Change
    Softball: + 6.4%

Easier schedule. Should have been in the +80% range. Sunbelt basketball is horrible. If you can't beat these teams, then you don't deserve an extension. And once every 5 years also doesn't deserve an extension.

It's a tough situation. I think most fans were ready to move on from Marlin but he put together a special year. Certainly on paper, it was worthy of an extension. Looking at the big picture that's debatable. Either way, we have to hope he can make some adjustments and replace some really good pieces.

Also, SBC basketball is generally not very strong but the new members that played their first season this year certainly boosted the league. This was NOT the same old SBC you were used to. Even though we didn't win conference, we had a good conference showing.

Wins and Losses are THE measure, not strength of schedule per turbine

You are adding to what I said (in a subtraction sort of way) I said W/L is all that is looked back on, down the road.

When a season has just ended SOS is considered and reviewed

Let me remind everyone RW&B did not, in all likelyhood, view any UL basketball this past season...

Interesting. Thanks for clarifying. So when does "down the road start, and season just ended end? Three years or so? Or before next season

Down the road is the very, very long run. Essentially a career.

Bob gets one or two more trips to the dance along with his win loss record and he ends up in Natchitoches LHOF. Longevity is rewarded. Jay Walker is also a lock for LHOF honors.

Transfer out ncaa had us listed without adding in the postseason games.
So it looked like it went down from 37 last year to 35 this year. 2/37= 5.4.

Now with postseason added it is 41. So an increase of 4 = plus 10.8%
So glasco drops to third,... hot seat?
