Its good in my book. Was not very predictable. Just - the melting of that chair by that f'n Dragon was insane cool (to me). That scene alone makes up for any thing else in S8.
The whole "group think" comment is b/c everybody seems to have the exact same view of the last season. The odds of that are unbelievable low.
All in all, I've never been in one of the camps or cult like followings of shows, movies, etc. but GOT, Gamechanger.
So you're saying I'm not unique in my incredible dislike for the way the producers trashed a great series? I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who thought it was an abomination of an off the charts series. This show had such incredible scenes & the plots were the most evil for lack of a better word, than anything ever on television. The acting was off the charts, the character development, the costumes, the dragons. And Danaryus is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen since Audra Barkley. The show had it all. But everything from the night battle to Jon killing Danaryus, to the Unsullied & the Dothraki allowing Jon to kill their Goddess without retribution, to Tyrion's pathetically weak reasoning for Bran being placed on the throne was just the producers throwing in the towel & admitting they didn't spend an hour discussing what the last season would be like in terms of quality.
Another great epic series I forgot to list was the Last Kingdom on Netflix. It had 5 incredible seasons with an epic end befitting of the whole story. Then they made a sequal movie which sucked so bad I quit watching halfway through & got rid of Netflix.
Precisely.
Incredible hidden meanings.
Each and everything has purpose.
The 13 families, etc.
I'll have to check out "Last Kingdom" - I know nothing about it.
I got one for you - watch "Spartacus" (a series) from one of the movie channels, I think Starz. It doesnt have all the hidden meaning, just straight up hardcore. I was working on the pilot house of a boat when the V-Birth assembler said, "you need to check this ____ out and handed over the Spartacus series dvd set."
It aint no GOT but good to know about.
I'll tell you whats unbelievable bad was the "House of Dragon" I think its' called, the GOT prequel series. I think I watched 30 minutes into it and nearly threw something at the tv for it to end. About as cool as Burger Tyme's "grand opening" in the old Wendy's on Johnson. About as cool as Metalica's new album, 72 seasons...absolute junk. About as cool as having to watch LSU today, and not the Cajuns.
Shout out to Coach Deggs, great season brother, CAN NOT Wait till the 2024 Cajuns are back, ready for War. We're gonna rename the Cajuns after next season. We will come to be known not as Louisiana Baseball, instead we'll be called "The Program"
Back to GOT, Whomever was responsible for the construction of these Castles, Carriages, Ships, Armaments and so on are absolute Masters of their craft.
Not sure if A Clockwork Orange is obscure in many people's eyes here but I'll give that one my vote
Lost Horizons
As periodically screwed up as this country gets, we have consistently made great films since before WW II, one after another.
