That was a fun one to watch. Nice to also see Stanford struggle against Morehouse in the 9th … and that nasty 96 mph fastball with serious cut and plane changing action.

Southern Miss and Tennessee will resume Game 1 tomorrow morning at 11am CT … with Game 2 to follow … of course, weather permitting. More rain expected tomorrow.

Tanner Hall will start Game 2.

Southern Miss is one game away from the CWS,
due to their 5-3 win over Tennessee. The Cajuns have been in such a Game 2 situation twice, losing the following two games to Rice and Ole Miss respectively. In the Columbia regional,
The Cajuns won the last two games to advance.

It should be a great pitching matchup in Game 2 this afternoon, with Hall going against Dollander (ex-Georgia Southern).

With 86 pitches thrown this afternoon , it seems that Justin Storm is done for the Supers. But USM can certainly bring Armistead back. Give Berry plenty of credit for making that move when he did. The Vols never led.
