That first paragraph regarding Covid crap is laughable. No application here. But go ahead, continue your scorched earth takedown of the admin over not hosting a watch party at the stadium at 1pm on a Friday afternoon.
Dismissing ideas out of hand (not you) is scorched earth.

A novel idea, sometimes requires a novel. Just sayin.

My thought was to make Stadium Club an enticement by having it open and running like usual. Then have just the outfield available to non-RCAF (or Non-Bracelet) folks. Gives the VIP separation that you want in a perk like that, while limiting the custodial staff in the stands. Maybe even have a $10 cover for families (or individuals), invite them to bring their lawn chairs and ice chest. Again, limits concession staff. Invite the beer guy to come and make some extra money.

But the kicker is, the stadium club as a perk and recruiting new RCAF members. “With minimum of $XX donation, you can join the watch party in stadium club AND become an RCAF member.”

You do that over the course of entire regional (and hopefully supers and CWS) and I believe you can really get some buy-in, on top of giving the rest of our fanbase a great communal experience.

Cost analysis is a convenient excuse. Remember how many fans were asked to let the administration keep their season ticket money instead of asking for refunds during covid? For the benefit of the program? My “cost analysis” said it wasn’t to my (and hundreds if not thousands of others) benefit to do so. But we did. We waste money on much dumber ____ than inviting our fans to gather and celebrate our accomplishments.

There is a reason why our fanbase, engagement and private donor money is woefully lacking. This is another reason in the long line of reasons.

And you really need to figure out what “scorched earth” means. Explaining benefits and asking questions isn’t “scorched earth.”
Also, what are we celebrating? I thought the season was a huge flop... Are you spinning it?

This season has been a huge flop. There is no other way to spin in. We returned a ton of talent, leadership and coming off a regional appearance with a weaker overall team.

Underperformed and under-delivered. Missing post season play with this talent and age is unacceptable. But by all means, bicker about semantics. Let’s continue just ignoring the erosion of standards in this program and keep arguing…

    Insecure much?

NOW, we are celebrating a regional.

To that point, we were not a postseason team and yes, that would have been a huge flop with this talent.

Nah man, sitting at a table for 3 hours indoors and spending god knows how much on food and beer is a much better experience. Certainly wouldn’t want those dollars going to the program, either. AND it has more opportunity for new RCAF members!

    Let’s compare

Pete’s: private business. already open. Has staff. Has food. Has drinks. Has a regular clean up schedule. Has good audio. Has TVs. Has AC.

Tigue: is a baseball stadium. Not open other than scheduled home baseball games and other preplanned events. Has no staff. Has no food. Has no drinks. Has no regular clean up schedule in off season. Has audio that doesn’t work well. Has a TV, but probably take a guy to set everything up. Doesn’t have AC (but does in SC).

Is it possible the administration had given up on the postseason and are not mobile enough to pivot on unexpected success?

There should always be a proactive local organized watch party location, above and beyond what fans do for themselves.

I truly believe Mat wants what’s best for UL. I just very much disagree with how he goes about it.

Lol. Farmer sure figured it out. Didn’t you ride for him?

Sodexo is on call for this University 24/7.

    Where’s ULvictory? Culture of can’t runs deep…

This is a great point. If true, illustrates an even bigger problem.

It's obvious this admin gives ZERO forethought for things like this. Very ill-prepared. Apparently not that important to them. Some people are perfectly fine with mediocrity, and that's OK. Just don't attack those that want the best and demand better from our administration. Status quo doesn't get you anywhere.
