Thread: Hogan Harris

Harris went 4.2. 5 hits, 4 earned runs. Walked 4, struck out 5.

He had a couple unfortunate things happen in the same inning to make those numbers look worse that they actually were. One hit bounced over the outfielders head because he was not used to the artificial surface and the next batter hit a grounder that the SS kinda bobbled and made an off throw which should have been an out and was classified as a hit. Together these cost him 1 hit and two runs . . .

So the catcher had plenty of time to make the play at home plate but the ball dislodged for what would have been the 3rd out. Is that run unearned.

On one of the views, while the throw was there in ample time, the catcher really never had control of the ball from that second hop. This is the second game in a row that Hogan does not get the baseball breaks . . .

Oh well. Hogan gives up a hit then 2 run homer then a hit and is pulled in the 6th. Yankees put up another 4, have runners on second and third one out. On to the next game . . . it was fun while it lasted . . .

I didn’t get to watch any, but that looks like a not-terrible outing. Especially when the next guy gave up 5 without getting an out.
