Thread: Pedescleaux to Tulane

  1. Default Re: The Portal Strikes Again

Like with everything else, big money ruined something we really enjoyed for many years.

For those that think rooting for the shirt is the way to go, I respect that. I wish it were that easy for me. But the harsh reality is, the smaller schools will die a quick death embracing that mindset, imo.

If we were a well run organization… If we were strongly supported by the community at large… If we were in a wealthy state with upward mobility (with regard to conference and TV contracts).. I might be more inclined to believe that we could weather the storm long enough to make the final 60 team cut.

But that’s just not the reality. I’ll be interested to see who is left on the “just root for clothes” bandwagon after Ole Miss comes to town and offers Chriss a couple million to go QB for Kiffin.

I think Ragin Review needs to host a podcast at Pete's.

I am so ready for the big money boys to go into their own room to play AND there be some rules that regulate their tampering. At least go back to the sitting out a year if transferring.

What about abridging the right to make more money?

On an individual basis, it could be argued that depriving a player of a pro draft status deprives him of his right to make more money.

Of course the counter argument will point to the max a few collegians are making. However it was an individual basis case that initially started working it's way to Supreme Court.
