Like with everything else, big money ruined something we really enjoyed for many years.
For those that think rooting for the shirt is the way to go, I respect that. I wish it were that easy for me. But the harsh reality is, the smaller schools will die a quick death embracing that mindset, imo.
If we were a well run organization… If we were strongly supported by the community at large… If we were in a wealthy state with upward mobility (with regard to conference and TV contracts).. I might be more inclined to believe that we could weather the storm long enough to make the final 60 team cut.
But that’s just not the reality. I’ll be interested to see who is left on the “just root for clothes” bandwagon after Ole Miss comes to town and offers Chriss a couple million to go QB for Kiffin.
