Thread: SB Championship: Louisiana 1, Marshall 0

UL Softball SB Championship: Louisiana 1, Marshall 0

Marshall's pitcher, Nester, threw 241 pitches over the last two games. She will take the circle again today. She will be throwing in 90 degree heat, something she is not accustomed to doing. In what inning will she start to wilt?

Game is at 1 pm. Bring a friend. The atmosphere will be a major factor. Let's be loud and proud! I don't think the Marshall players or coaches know what they're in for. They have not attended the Cajun's tournament games.

Nester is from all accounts, a very good pitcher. I watched them yesterday and she did seem to tire as the game went on. S.Alabama didn't have enough firepower at the plate to win that game. I'm sure adrenaline will help her today, but for how long.

I expect Sam will get the start for us today. If she is on, I don't see how we lose this one. But in a 7 inning diamond sport, anything can and usually does happen.

    Geaux Cajuns!

Remember that when you are Louisiana, winning forms a substantial part in “what can happen.”

Marsha will marsh mellow out and the Lady Cajuns shall prevail.

Hopefully this is an example as to why the Cajun pitching rotation is such an advantage. Mullins, Lackie, Nester all pitched a lot this week. They are good, but can’t carry their teams inning after inning. It’s caught up to the Cajuns in the past also.

I think you see some separation today. Cajun bats will be hot.

I remember the 2016 regional with tamu riding Show the whole weekend. To her credit, she battled but after 200+ pitches, she was just done. Maybe it was Sanders that hit the home run and right off the bat Show just slumped in the circle, looked at the dirt and didn’t even turn to see where the ball went. She knew it. That was a fun softball game.

The largest crowd at an away game Marshall played in front of this year was, 354. They have played in front of as few as 50 (Morehead State). At home, they average about 500 fans. Let's see how they play in front of more than 2,000.

That was the exception. Largest crowd ever at a Marshall game. 2700. That is not normal. Plus, all of the fans were pro-Herd. The fans today will not be. LOL!

The UL crowd will be a different crowd for them.

Scratch that, looks like just in case she's needed. Landry warming up now.

I expected the crowd to be a bit better. Still a few minutes to go, but pretty light considering the circumstances.

People are way too comfortable to sit in those hot bleachers at 1 PM. Why isn't this game played tonight?
