Right? I know people have to make a living, but even $26 for two burgers, two bags of chips, and two waters is crazy. Throw in the fact we have to tip for everything nowadays.
Grocery bill:
$4.94/lb 80/20 ground chuck
$3.53 (8 buns)
$7 (24 pack of deli deluxe cheese)
$1.09 white onion
------------------
Total grocery bill $16.56
Cost per homemade double patty smash burger:
$1.25 4 oz patty
$0.44 bun
$0.30 sliced cheese
$1.60 bag of chips
$0.07 onion slices
------------------
Total: $3.66
The bigger point was, people are actually brain washed enough to think this is just “inflation.”
No, Pete’s is actually ripping you people off. I used Judice Inn as an example of that. A restaurant that has been around much longer than Charlie G’s version of “family friendly” Pete’s.
Inflation is not why 2 slices of cheese and pickles added $3.75 to our bill. That’s insane.
Following the shutdowns, prices on everything went up supposedly because of "supply chain issues" and now it is because of "inflation".
The bottom line is that when you shut down businesses for two years, those businesses are looking for every reason to raise prices in order to make up for two years of lost revenue.
its raising your taxes without raising your taxes and the government can say " we didn't raise your taxes"
