Thread: The next LSU Spinoff school has begun.

  1. Default The next LSU Spinoff school has begun.

If history is any indication, it won't be long before LSU Shreveport joins McNeese, ULM, UNO and others.

If history is any barometer, LSU Shreveport will become part of the University of Louisiana System.

LSU proposed McNeese, Nicholls, UNO and ULM, and had to be approved by the legislature.

Except all but ULM were actually approved by the legislature.

It didn't matter they were dumped anyway.

    UL Shreveport?

Maybe El Aye Tech will finally get their satellite. Or the University of Shreveport or UL-Shreveport is in the future. Whatever happens, they won’t have the med school.

Whatever happens, the end result will be another population center, forever indebted to LSU even though they got kicked to the curb by LSU.

Is there any benefit to us (UL) by this move? If not, can we vote against it and make lsu responsible?

The typical move would be for to budget stay stagnant for both systems, just one university moves to another system. It’s how the two pies are sliced that changes.

The number of students in the ULS far outweigh the LSU system. But because of the roots left behind at the LSU rejects, a move will never be made to put local interests ahead of LSU.
