How can it be corrected?

You play the season with the pitchers you have. We can question recruiting and off-season/pre-season development, but at this point, I don't think you can really correct anything.

It might help if the skipper was more aware of when a pitcher just doesn't have it and has a replacement that doesn't come in cold with the bases loaded.

Either ST of JW will need to be given a pink slip at the end of the season. I don't think either one is to blame, but if your missing piece is a 300lb defensive lineman, you can't just plop a 5'9 corner in that spot. I wish whoever it is the best of luck, but we need a legitimate pitching coach in a bad way.

We actually led the Sun Belt in ERA after this weekend. Went up from 4.78 to 4.9 after last night. The average team ERA is 6.17, more than a run above us. Pitching is horrible everywhere in college.

At times, our pitching is very bad, almost unwatchable, but it is relatively good compared to peers.

We also lead the Sun Belt in fielding % and are in the top half of most offensive catagories.

I hate losing to Ruston because they're beneath us. Like McNeese or Monroe.

But in all reality, this is a meaningless game. This result is meaningless. All that matters is winning the tournament. That is all that has mattered since we got swept at JMU.

Teaching and development, a corner stone of this program for 30 years, is how you fix it.

Maybe if we had an actual pitching coach, he could have corrected many things when it comes to locating pitches, walking and hitting batters, managing a staff as a whole and having a somewhat regular rotation. A lot of this stuff is mental for the pitchers and the merry go round hasn’t helped in the least bit. But that’s just my silly opinion.

All this is is a testament as to how bad SB pitching is. Certainly nothing to be proud of.

It’s not only Sunbelt. SEC has an ERA of over 5.
