Rawls with another W
So question. At 32 wins, and with 7 regular season games left (LaTech, TxSt series and USM series…) do we have enough in the tank to get to 40+ wins?
Rawls will have to pitch a lot.
Came here to say I have ragged this pitching staff and Seth Thib most weekends and I wanted to give them props for a solid weekend. ULM is pretty bad but it was encouraging to see the pitching staff do well and on the road.
Think about it this way, we went with Nezuh on Friday, he has good stuff but has struggled mightily to get people out for extended lengths of time. He pitched 7 innings gave up 5 hits and 3 runs on Friday night while walking 1 and striking out 6. He did hit one batter as well, but threw 104 pitches. Christie came in and shut the door for 2 complete innings giving up 3 hits and 1 run.
On Saturday Carson Fluno, who had not shown us that he was a starter all season pitched 91 pitches and went 5-1/3 giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, walking 1 and stiking out 8 in the process, Moody, Cash and Couch pitched 3-2/3 giving up 3 hits striking out 4 and walking 3 and giving up zero runs in the process.
Finally Sunday was a strange day, we finally started a guy who we thought was going to be a regular starter in Jake Hammond, he was strong in 3 innings giving up only 1 hit and 0 runs in 3 innings, but was pulled, I assume on a pitch count. Then Ben Tate came in and was looking solid vs 1 hitter but was unfortunate since the rains came and he got pulled for Cooper Rawls who came in and pitched 2.2 innings giving up 3 hits but no runs.
Solid day at the office for the Cajuns pitching staff, granted vs bad hitting, but none the less.
Was this a committee weekend or a committed weekend?
