One year bench rule for the portal, and one year sit out rule for coaches voluntarily leaving before fulfilling their contract. Game would get much more stable.

We should start out 6-0 this year.

If we knock off a B1G team on the road attendance will definitely spike!

I doubt it. Acadiana for the most part just doesn't support the Cajuns.

That is overly negative. "Spike" does not mean fill the stadium.

A season opening road win will always spike interest.

What that interest looks like will depend on how aware marketing has made the general public of the upcoming football season.

"Doesn't support the Cajuns" is directly related to "Hasn't been asked to."

Not negative, just the truth. In Napier best years the crowds were light.

Except for crowd restricted year of 2020 Napier never had a Season Opening road win.

Neither Napier nor Des are rah-rah coaches that get fans excited. Our best attendance was with Hud who excited everybody.

Des is an alum and a local which should alone be able to fire up the fan base. But, he is going to have to get more excitable, do commercials, find ways to get fans and students fired up about UL football. And, of course, win. Just hosting a game won't do it.

2005 Athletic Dept. -“Rickey, would you like to do a McDonalds commercial?”

    Rickey Bustle-“There’s no question.”

Also played the majority of his “big” games in weeknights and covid fallout was real.

Covid was the biggest boost to ESPN+ success. Fans that would never have thought of missing games experienced then niceties of watching on the 65” right at home under a nice patio with all the cold beer, eats, restroom . . .
