It is really sad for the kid because he had a great night tonight against the best of hitters.
He picked up the win with 5 innings pitched, no earned runs on 62 pitches.

He was not stretched out regardless of why was out. Being used to the workload is the issue.
Sometimes guys try to pitch "around" a physical problem and hurt something else, especially if they are not "stretched out".
Nice win, but we will need to slug our way anywhere we want to go. That much is obvious, but everybody else is in the same boat. Pitching is bad everywhere.
I don’t care if it was his earlobe. If he’s been sidelined and you extended him enough to blow out his elbow, that’s on you. You know if a guy is ready and he probably wasn’t ready.
He wanted the ball because he’s a competitor. It’s the coaching staff’s job to protect him and they didn’t.
I get that. And was surprised to see him come out for his 4th inning, much less a 5th.
Maybe I misread but I thought I read a comment from someone saying he had an elbow injury prior to tonight.
It really sucks for him. What a great performance tonight. And in arguably the biggest game of the season.
Told y’all. Keep grinding!
