I'm of the opinion that these midweek games are completely meaningless right now. If we want to look at it as time to get reps, I'd argue 40 games into the season, if you're still needing reps, something has gone terribly wrong. If we're still needing games for "confidence," something has gone terribly wrong.
Like Jay, I hate to be the one second guessing. That's too easy. I'll "first guess" and say, the only way to get the best out of our best pitchers is to get them the proper rest and preparation that they need. This committee stuff is ludicrous. Of course we pitched "well" this week. Of course we smashed the ball around the yard this week. It's Southern and Northwestern. They stink. (And before anyone says JMU stinks, they most certainly do not stink. They are young and a few pieces short of being a handful in the East SBC)
At no fault of their own, I don't expect to see the best out of our pitching staff this weekend. I hope I'm dead wrong on that, but the stats and the 200+ years of baseball history say otherwise. I do expect to slap Testicle Face pitching around the field and I think our offense will end up outlasting them in 2/3 games.
