Final game to start at 10 a.m. to accommodate Chanticleer travel

LAFAYETTE – It will be breakfast and baseball at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park on Sunday as the final game of the three-game Sun Belt Conference series against No. 6-ranked Coastal Carolina was moved to a 10 a.m. CT start, in a Monday afternoon announcement.

The game, scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start, was moved up 30 minutes to accommodate CCU’s travel plans. The series between Louisiana (26-15, 10-8 SBC) and Coastal Carolina (26-12, 13-5 SBC) will begin on Friday in a 6 p.m. contest before resuming on Saturday at 4 p.m.

All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+ with fans able to listen to the game in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app.

I don't think they know all the travel schedules and flights in the country.

The conference does not set the start time for games. That is done locally. While the schedule is set for next season, no one has made travel arrangements. Other schools have adjusted their start times for us a week or so before the games. My guess is Coastal is flying in and out of New Orleans on Southwest.
