There were MANY people on here who wanted Robe fired towards the end…and most wanted Deggs to take his place.

Here we go.....
I said this back in February during the mcneese loss. Some people didn’t like it. So I’ll say it again. Our offense looks good in the off-season cause we are smacking around our own average pitching.
And as for people wanting Tony fired for Deggs, that is 100% true. While it was frustrating his last few years, I didn’t think he should have been fired. I just wanted him to right the ship. He deserved that much and I do believe he would have gotten things right. Y’all wanted Deggs y’all got Deggs. It’s gonna be a long summer waiting for football to start.
Just remembered we host a top 10 team next weekend who is knocking the cover off the ball right now.
Festival, anyone?
I was not Robe's doc. However, cardiac patients can have very limited abilities to live normally. Lightheadedness, shortness of breath, cognitive issues can be symptoms. Robe was a not well man and probably for a long time.
He selflessly took on the problems of those around him, helping countless folks as his calling. That likely did not help him physically.
This is an embellishment of the truth at best. There were a few fire Robe folks. Most people wanted him to fix the glaring issue with his hitting coach/recruiting coordinator. There was significant concern if he would have the stomach to do that. The people who realized standards were not being met were not wrong and Robe admitted as much in one of the last interviews I heard from him.
Whether or not Deggs can return us to some semblance of greatness is yet to be determined. The fact that he can’t get better results than this out of a team that was billed as “bought in” “alpha dogs” “his type of guys who were ready to throw down” etc etc is not a good sign. However, this is UL. Regardless of grumblings from fans, Deggs will have PLENTY of years to write his own legacy.
Winning is hard enough, which is why you can’t have what happened Friday night happen. If they don’t out coach themselves on Friday we going for series win today. Our coaches have given away too many wins, more than the players have IMO. Whatever analytic sheet told you to pull Marshall for etheridge should go in the trash. If it was a gut feeling, that probably was meant for the toilet.
