Thread: High scoring Walk Off Losses

  1. Default High scoring Walk Off Losses

I doubt there have been very many high scoring Walk-Off losses by two teams from the same program, half a country apart, on the same night, with both being series openers.

Funny story about walkoffs - last night , my wife and I listen to the Cajuns take the lead before heading into a restaurant / figured the Cajuns would win, so lets go eat. The Tenn / Vandy game is on and Tenn wins by a walkoff -have to explain to her what a walkoff is. So a couple of minutes later, I chk my phone and realize Cajuns lost both games by walkoff - talk about timing !

Both lost to home runs with a 1 run lead and the opposition down to 2 outs. Both happened within what? 8 minutes of each other? I try not to get too high or low on wins and losses in diamond sports, but that was rough.

Shut off the lights. Go to bed. Try to not think about it, but it still keeps replaying in your head.

LOL, so she went from needing a generic explanation to taking a master class on the same night.

Funny thing is if either baseball or softball had won 1, it would not have been so bad. Combine them together in rapid succession and similarity, ouch.

A few losses come to mind that resulted in that amount of anger.

Jackson State in 14’. That was tops for me, but we recovered.

There were back to back weeks in 16’ were football lost multi overtime games against Tulane and NMST. Beer played a factor in that but when Larry Rose fumbled in the winner for the Aggies, it was not good.

Game 1 of the Auburn softball super regional. I was listening to it on the radio in the car and had to pull over.

    Y’all have any?

I was also listening to the radio in the car of the Auburn softball regional and had to pull over in the Taco Bell parking lot near the UL campus. I was not a happy camper and four letter words were a plenty.

Oh man. The radio got some verbal abuse that day.

I left work in New Iberia at the beginning of the bottom of the big inning and eventually pulled over at Rouses in youngsville. Auburn was still batting.

That Auburn - UL softball game will live in 'Infamy', right? Most awful, EVER!

Worse coaching job in the history of NCAA softball.
