Big time changes to college football

These changes have been approved for the upcoming season.

1. Clock will run after first downs except in the last 2 minutes of 2nd quarter and 4th quarter.

2. Penalties at the end of the half will be carried over rather than an untuned play.

3. Cannot call consecutive timeouts by one team.

These changes are to be done to speed up then length of games.

Should help immensely, but also timeouts become much more important since clock will not stop after 1st downs.

You wanna shrink the time of the game…start by doing what soccer does. Picture in Picture commercials. It would speed the game up by 45 minutes.

It's all about more time for commercials, just like the NFL did. Less plays, more time for advertising. Shame.

How about not letting the booth call for video review of so many plays. Go to NFL policy of reviewing only challenges along with scoring plays, and turnovers. Don’t spend forever on review when turnovers and scores are obvious.
