Thread: Baseball Charter

    Default Baseball Charter

When did baseball start charting flights? I can remember Tony bussing to Houston and flying from there to avoid having connectors.

I ain’t gonna lie when I was watching I got nervous thinking some might be in LSUA&M jerseys like back in the fall.

I’m betting there’s a lot of ex-players wondering where this charter was back when UT-Pan American was in the league!

If I remember correctly they are doing 2 charters.

Correct, they had one to Marshall now this one to JMU. We have been doing one charter a year for baseball for a while and this year we are doing two.

Are the rest bused or do they still have some commercial flights too?

No commercial flights this year. Houston, mobile, Monroe and Hattiesburg are the other road trips

Thank you. Now bring us back a sweep and enjoy your fancy flight home! Lol

I honestly think the Marshall and JMU trips being chartered are more practical than fancy perk. Quick search of flights to and from Charlottesville (closest airport) look awful. You're either looking at a drop dead time on Sunday or an extra night in hotel.

That's what I was thinking as well.

Rather than start, a brand new thread, I’ll go ahead and say here that Saturday’s game has been changed to a 5 PM start time central time because of impending weather.

Practical and public Univ travel are oxymorons. They most certainly would have saved major $$ traveling commercial. Logistics do not matter in the beancounter eyes.

I’m sure the cost for the 2 charters was enormous. But even if the W-L results aren’t good, it’s money well spent by the program.

No doubt. They would have probably bused to Houston in the old days as to avoid connectors. Should have done that long ago for all those flight trips.
