One thing I noticed was the difference in speed between the two teams. Cajuns turned a DP with their "big" guys running that even Brock probably runs out.
It will be interesting to see how the team performs going forward. If the freebies start to go up again for us this weekend, last night will be quickly forgotten. Last night was our first midweek road win. I do wonder if our RPI is going to be negatively affected by playing so many mid week home games. I think our only mid week road game left is at Tech. I know we need to generate revenue and apparently buying home games against SWAC schools is one of the ways we are doing so. Also, a concern to me is losing the last 2 home series. If the team goes on a run here fueled by last night, the victory will be more meaningful. Of course momentum in baseball is stopped by a good arm in the next game. Hopefully we get a good outing on Friday from the pitchers. Poor outings on Friday have occurred 3 of the last 4 weeks. Turning that around may be key to the season.
Is Rawls still lined up to start Friday after throwing 3 innings Sunday and then another last night?
I would assume that he may be pushed back to Sunday with either Nezuh or McGehee going Friday (and the other on Saturday)
Which, in turn, informs (misinforms) your notion that anything coming from a UL fan towards LSU could every be truly “unprovoked.” It could only be conceived as “unprovoked” when these people take a day off looking down their nose at us and then hollering like hit dogs when one of ours claps back.
