STATESBORO, GA - Nearly four hours after the first serve of the afternoon in the Louisiana men's tennis team's regular season finale, the team came away victorious with William Ribero's third set tiebreaker victory. The 4-3 win over Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia, clinched the number-three seed in the Sun Belt Conference tournament starting on Thursday.

Congratulations Cajuns on clinching the number 3 seed in the tournament.

Alway prefer going out with a win ... or is it going in with a win.

For the 2nd year in a row, the Cajuns are limping into the tournament and again it is very unfortunate, because this team has/had the talent to win the conference regular season and tournament. But unfortunately they are now down 2 starters.

As I had mentioned previously Orial Filet Giminez who was 16-4 in singles last season has not played one match this season, he was projected to be the #2 or #3 starter this year and has been out all season. Now Alexandro Sanchez Gonzales who was 15-4 as a starter at #2 last season and has played #1 this year, but struggled at that position has not played the last 3 matches.

Had we had him I truly believe we would have won vs USM and Georgia State and finished 7-1 and probably had been the #1 or #2 seed.
